Spetpember

We haven't kept things updated because we have had a bit of a rough patch this month. Our first week in school was all we ended up with and our kids are now homeschooled. I said I never would, so I am eating my words and they taste awful. Gabby & Nate started flag football & cheerleading which they both love and Josh is back in the full swing of school again.

Our 3 yr old Andrew has undergone a series of tests this month. At first we were convinced (90% sure) that he had a chromosomal deficiency called PWsyndrome (if I put the real name, my blog can show up in a search). We were devastated and it was a long 3 weeks until the results came. We were elated that they were negative but then we are still up in the air as to what is wrong. So, we will now meet with a long string of pediatric specialists to find out if there is a name to what is going on, or if it is just a grab bag of symptoms. Right now he meets 2x a week each with a physical and occupational therapist and we are waiting on his academic, speech, and psychological tests. We are also waiting on a horse-riding program for "special needs" kids in our area. And yes, as of now, our sweet Andrew is considered "special needs." I guess if you are going to have one, you might as well have 3!
The amazing thing is that he seems to sense my sadness and has continually reassured me this month with his cheesy grin that he's happy. In truth, we really can't ask for more than that.

We miss you!!

We keep reading the posts that friends and family leave on the blog and it reminds us of when we lived near you. It is hard to not be so close to all of you. And it becomes increasingly difficult as time moves on because we have lived in various places and make news friends in each place. Some day we hope to get together again. We miss all of you and hope you are doing well.

Sorry we have not posted to the blog lately but, we have been really busy (more than the normal busy). We are doing well and hope you are as well.

Love,
us

Nate's First Fishy

Today, Bass Pro Shops had a kids fishing day. They supplied the poles, bait and lake/pond (in their backyard) and all the kids had to do was find their place along the shore. Gabby had a good time and learned how to cast a little better than when she started. She brought her friends Camden and Savannah. They all had a great time.

Nate was so excited that he caught a fish that everyone within 100 feet of him knew he caught a fish - I GOT ONE! I GOT ONE!! (sorry other people there)

The kids just could not resist sitting on the ATVs and dreaming about which one they would have and how many of each color - we did not mention how much their dreams would cost!! :)

Bass Pro Shops also had an enclosed area where the kids could shoot off about 20 rounds on a nice paint ball gun. They also had remote control cars set up that the kids could race head to head. The kids were having such a good time that they repeatedly turned down eating to continue fishing and stuff.
