Surgery for the twins
Well, finally we were able to get the twins in to get their tonsils and adenoids (I am almost possitive I spelled one or both of those wrong, but I don't care) out. We needed to have them at the hospital at 5:30 even though the surgery did not start until 7:30. Anyway, after Tasha was done the surgeon said that her tonsils and what not were so infected, he even said it sicked him out! (not his exact words, but close). The twins are going to spend the night and mom is staying with them, probably sleeping in those stiff chairs. I must make special mention of Sister Winder of our Branch and Emalia (my sister-in-law) and thank them so much! Emailia woke up and was at our house at 5:00 to watch the 4 oldest kids so, that we could take the twins in and be with them after surgery. Then sister Winder came over to pick up the kids at 10:00 and watch them until 4:30 that afternoon, even though she just moved in and is in the middle of unpacking boxes. Then when she dropped off the kids, she left us with homemade chicken noodle soup! I had two classes, one I could not miss and the later one I just skipped, so that sister Winder would not have them as long. Thank you Emailia and Sister Winder!!! We could not have done it without you!!
I normally don't update the blog but since Kim is sleeping at the hospital, it is my turn.
We brought the kids by the hospital to help cheer up the twins. The 'twinies' were genuinely happy to see their siblings. I think it helped lift their spirits. Most of the time, the twins are lifting us and helping us to have smiles on our faces so, it was good to be able to do it for them.

Thursday
For possibly our last trip while in Florida, since we are not sure where Josh will get a job, we decided to go to Key Largo and Islamorada. Nate also requested to go camping for his birthday. So we blended the ideas and camped in the Keys!
This is the first thing we saw as we crossed the bridge into the Keys!!
After finding our camping spot, we hurried to go to Robbie's Marina to feed the 6 foot Tarpon (some were at least 100 pounds)!
Kim decided to wrestle with Tasha instead of enjoying the great view behind her. :)
Family staring into the feeding area where about 20 Tarpin are waiting for some kid to fall into the water. A bucket of fish was only $3.00. This was probably the kids' favorite part of the trip.
In order to get the feeding area we had to get past the guards. The 20 or so pelicans were not afraid of anyone and at one point tried to peck at Abigail!!
Nate trying to get one of the Tarpon to jump out of the water and grab his well-advertised fish!!
Gabby wanted to test the pelican's will. So she kicked at the bird. (PETA was not around).
Tasha also tried to kick a bird like her sister Gabby. Poor girl! In Tasha's defense the pole was the same color as the pelicans :)
Abigail wanted to kick them too!!!
Nate spear-headed dinner arrangements for the night. He was so excited to do it all himself.
Camping is not complete without smores!!

playing catch up
As always I am way behind. I am trying to be better about documenting our lives far away from family so here is a quick 2 week review.
We had some good friends over for Easter dinner. Here is what the kids were doing while the adults were lazing on the porch.
We did an Easter egg hunt just for our family. Here is Natasha pushing her little basket around the yard.
Abigail was getting in on the action too--especially when she discovered melting chocolate inside the eggs!
Josh and I tried to be creative hiding the eggs in the fort, sandbox, swing set, trees etc.
This was Josh only a couple of minutes after he went outside to enjoy a "quiet breakfast".
The Easter bunny brought our 3 oldest kids snorkels in anticipation of our up and coming camping trip in the FL keys.
Dying easter eggs with the kids on our "table".
Our kids were getting very creative with the eggs.
Now that we have weather in the 80's again, we are back at our pool a couple times a week. Here are James & Andrew swimming around.
Our twins are becoming "Daddy's Girls". Every time they pick up any phone they say, "Hi Dad!" It is one of the few things they are able to say. They still won't say "Mom".
3 pirates and a scary sea monster sailing the high seas. My kids love to dress up and use their imaginations.
James was assigned to spend a half hour watching the twins while I did school work with Nate & Gabby. Not sure that will ever happen again!
Primary Easter egg hunt. Nate & James are checking the loot on the right and Andrew is on the left in a green shirt. Our former branch pres. has a HUGE yard that they generously loaned the primary since we have no church bldg. Easter egg hunts are not so fun in a middle school cafeteria.
James has a special friend in one of our YW. I took James on a date to Luci's last lacrosse game. We made this huge sign that she loved and cheered her on the whole time. Her team all thought he was adorable!
We were able to spend a Saturday afternoon with this really fun family. My in-laws were friends with them when they first became members in Key West, FL many years ago. Here we are with the Wamplers, Thompsons, and Josh's brother John & family. We got to see some great old photos and hear stories of my in-laws.

Our triplets are due in October!!
Don't you love April Fools Day?! Around here my kids have been more excited than they have for Easter. They have made their plans and Josh & I took them to the store for what they needed. So far we have had toy dinosaurs in our pillow cases, underwear all over our bed, green & yellow milk in the cartons, whoopie cushins on our seats and jawbreakers in our oatmeal. Josh just stoped a prank that would dump water all over our nice wood floors in the master. It's only 9:30 a.m. This will be a very LONG day! Luckily April Fools Day is only a once a year thing.
The picture below is actually NOT an April Fools joke. Abigail is such a climber that she has figured out how to climb onto the kitchen table. Unfortunately she lacks the ability to get down. Being the daredevil she is we caught her looking over the edge several times. Since there is tile below our table, we felt this was our safest solution. My kids love it. They want to get a set of chopsticks for everyone in the family. We eat on cushions from the old couch. Right now it is a novelty, but it is already wearing on us a bit. We can't set or clear the table unless the girls are in their seats. I had to sit on the floor to feed them yogurt for 20 min and my foot fell asleep. On the positive side, there is a lot less floor to clean every night.:)
